Aliens, unnatural and hybrids, oh my
INDIGO
~ *Kelsin frowns slightly, pulling her waist-length brown hair
from her sweater as she finishes dressing. This once, she leaves
it down, not bothering to put it back into the thick braid she
usually wears… if it gets in the way, TK works well enough
to keep it back. She’d been contacted by Aura, Jakorri, a
few days ago. And then more recently on a situation concerning..
she wasn’t quite sure, but Jakki said they needed a
telepath. Shadow.. Kelsin remembers her from the Lair, from Lyeth
speaking about her and such. And since Aerik no longer was even
around.. oh gee, wasn’t /that/ a shame… she had been
called on. Checking one last time in the mirror, the small,
lovely young woman touches her twin’s mind, tells him
she’s leaving, and uses her portable teleporter, a ring on
her right hand, coordinates pre-set from the ones given by Zora.
Conditioned to be suspicious, she blinks out, prepared for any
interference or difficulties… she finds none, arriving
smoothly before a large mansion in.. Texas, was it? Yes, she was
told so… and approaches the front door, blinking at the
finery of the grounds and the massive abode. She knocks on the
door, powers at the fore, ready to use, and shielding with TK
just to be on the safe side…*
SHADOW
~ *Descending the stairs when there is a knock on the door she
goes to answer it. Hoping it was the telepath. She knew one was
suppose to be around today. Just not who or when. Checking the
security camera she sees a young women. Kind of remembering her
from the lair she isn’t taking any chance. Hitting the
intercom button next to the door.* May I help you?
PANACEA
*she awakens and sits up, blinking and looking around, then she
stretches slowly and looks out thewindow,the memories of the
other day coming back to her...Bree....she needed some filling
in...hmmm...who to get to do that? she feels Shadow is her only
friend among the Runners...what would be more perfect than to
introduce the two? she stands and dresses quickly*
INDIGO
~ *She blinks and looks up, searching for… ah. A camera. She
smiles up at it and brushes strands from her face* I sure hope
so, or else I traveled a long way to be embarrassed. I’m
looking for Zora… I was… sent. *she waits, leaning her
weight on one hip, hoping it was understood who sent her..*
VEIL
~ ~The shifting of the bed wakens her and she peers blearily out
of one eye as Lyta gets up. Pulling the pillow back over her head
she muffles a groan, closing her eyes again and enveloping
herself in the blissful darkness. It was a well known fact among
the few friends she had managed to make that she was a first
class grouch when she first woke up ...at least until after that
first cup of coffee. Snuggling back under the covers she listens
as Lyta shuffles around the room*
SHADOW
~ *Smiles as the girl confirms her suspicions. Stepping over she
opens the door.* Yes.. I was expecting you.. I’m Zora.
*Stepping back she waves for the other to enter.* If you will
follow me we can go to the library to talk.*
PANACEA
~ Veil;*she finishes dressing, then looks over at you* hey
sleepyhead....wake up! you got places to go...people to meet
today! *grins*
VEIL
~ Lyta ...*the pillow moves slightly, allowing one blue eye to
blink out at you. All you hear is a soft mumble, muted by the
covers. The body beneath wiggles slightly before a head emerges.~
Ummmph ~she mutters, making an effort to get one leg off the bed~
There really ought to be a law against having to wake up before
noon ...~she sighs, forcing herself from the warmth of the bed
and quickly dressing and running a brush through her long hair.
This done she sits back on the edge of the bed, cradling her head
and blinking sleepily at you~ Places to go? People to meet?
INDIGO
~ Zora: *Kelsin grins as the door opens and Zora is revealed. The
girl takes in the other with a quick, observant sweep, checking
for weapons or anything else, meets up with some rather
impressive shields when she goes for a scan, and nods* Hi, Zora.
I’m Kelsin. Friends call me Blue. *that out of the way, she
steps in and follows behind Zora, glancing about appreciatively,
brows raised and offering a low whistle* Verrrry nice
ACE
*she stirred slightly.. a bit impatient... when the heck was she
gonna be told what she needed to... at least she'd left her
weapons... she strapped on the cybergun, she never felt safe
without it... and quickly got dressed... shaking her head* If
things don't happen soon I'm returning home... *but she
chuckled... she knew that the UNIT pass was the link here...
without it she would never have got this far... and might well be
decorating an alley somewhere in Dallas... she left the
explosives here.. she'd have no need of them till she left the
house...* Well Professor... here's luck... *and she prepared to
face the day*
PANACEA
~ Veil;*she giggles a bit, watching you* and i thought you were a
morning person ...*she says in mock acusation* ...yes...there is
a person i want you to meet...on earth...lets go get some coffee,
then we can go...
SHADOW
~ Hi Kelsin.. I wasn't sure who they were sending. *She isn't
aware of the fact the other tried to scan her. Chuckling at
Kelsins whistle.* Thanks.. It's home.. *Stopping before closed
double doors she opens them to reveal a huge 2 story library. The
walls lined with shelves and a balcony that circles the room for
the second floor. Waving Kelsin to one of the chairs in the
room.* Would you like something to drink?
VEIL
~ Lyta ..*she chuckles dryly* The only time I'm a morning person
is on the way home ...I simply don't ~do~ mornings ..~rubbing her
eyes she staggers back to her feet and stumbles after you, the
mention of coffee getting a rise from her~ We're going back to
Earth? ~she pauses long enough to retrieve her coat, remembering
the artic weather they had just left~
INDIGO
~ Yeah, well… not many telepaths around, really… it was
probably a toss-up between Lytra and me… and I won the
prize, as it were. *she’s speaking a bit absently, still
taking in her surroundings, shields still up but not on full
power as her eyes wander* 'How many rooms?' '233. It’s
small, but we call it home.' *she murmurs, quoting to herself in
response to the off-handed way Zora answers. Then.. the library.
Kelsin stands stunned, eyes huge and staring* ….HOLY SMOKES!
*after a moment of utter awe.. she loves books… she stumbles
to the chair, not really paying attention, attention fixed on all
the lovely, delicious books* ..Huh? Wha-? *she looks back at
Zora, uncomprehending. Finally, she shakes her head* Not right
now, thanks… *and she sits heavily, focus again on the
library*
PANACEA
Veil; *she nods and glances back at you* ahh...i see....yep!
earth again...its where most of the Runners go...ah..you wont be
needing that i dont think..not unless 50 degree temperatures are
cold to you....then again..bring it anyways...sometimes it gets
much colder...*walks down to the kitchen and gets coffee for you
and her, then hands you the steaming mug* c'mon...lets go
outside...
SHADOW
~ *She can't help but laugh at Kelsin's remarks and reaction to
the room. Books were her weakness and this room her pride and
joy. None of the other rooms in the house were quite as
ostintatious.* I modeled this room after one I saw in a English
castle. *Seeing the same look she got around books she knows how
the other feels about them.* Feel free to come back any time you
like. Some of the books are priceless and I don't want them out
of the house. Any of the others your free to borrow.
VEIL
~ Lyta .*she follows you mindlessly, smiling as the warm mug is
pressed into her hands* oh yes ..coffee ..*she sighs, sipping the
warm liquid* Last I remember it was snowing ..* a blink of
surprise, following you outside* Lemme guess, time passes
differently here or some such ...*in her half awake state it was
easy to believe this was just some bizarre dream*
INDIGO
~ *she nods slowly, just scanning all the spines, trying to read
titles, soaking in the -warmth- of all these wonderful tomes
about her… finally, she catches herself, straightens, and
grins brightly* Hey, thanks! And yeah… this room is
gorgeous… wow. *her brows raise again as she shakes herself
once more from her awe and tries to be serious* Okay.. Zora. Nice
to meet you in case I forgot to say that, think I’ve at
least seen you before. Jakki was a little vague on what’s
going down here… can ya fill me in?
ACE
~ *she steps out of her room.. and stops for a moment* I wonder
where she is... *she shrugs* Maybe I'll just have sumfing to
eat... maybe go to the library for some research... *she shrugs*
I'm sure if I'm required she'll let know in some way or
another... *smirks* *she then starts to walk*
SHADOW
~ *nods* Yes.. There is a young woman staying with me right now.
She found me. Her name is Ace. She isn't an unnatural, but she
knows about us. *hesitating a moment she sits down across from
Kelsin.* Have you heard of a man called the Doctor? Or of the
British Special Unit called Unit?
PANACEA
~ Veil; *grins*...no...it is the same time there...Texas is
always much warmer than New York though.....*sitting on the front
step, she sips her coffee slowly, savoring the rich bitter taste
as it warms her body, and awakens her mind, she can feel the
small amount of venom within her from the healing she did for
John last night and shivers, feeling a bit defenceless for going
to earth, knowing she has not enough poisen to make anyone more
than just a little sick*
INDIGO
~ *Kelsin’s eyes narrow as her brows furrow slightly…
and slowly, she shakes her head* ….No… never heard of
it. Should I have? How does she know of us? I mean, its not
wholly impossible or anything. The States are /hardly/ the only
country that has unnaturals. But you make this sound… more
than just… a friend telling a friend…
VEIL
~ Lyta ..*she simply shakes her head in amazement* Texas *she
murmurs softly* This is so very ....well ...odd ...*she chuckles
lightly, the sound echoing in her mug as she gratefully sips the
beverage, feeling it jump start her system and poke her brain
into action* why are we going back there?
LYTA
~ Veil; there is a...friend i have there that may help me fill
you in about what is going on...c'mon...*she finishes the last of
her coffee and sets the mug down on the step, then walks into the
courtyard* here...let me show you how to set your
bracelet...*then she sets her own bracelet for the mansion*
SHADOW
~ The Doctor is an alien. He isn't from Earth although he has
spent a lot of time here. I've meet him and I believe so have
several others. Ace knows about us through him. She came to me
asking about the Unnaturals. She may be willing to help us.
*Taking a deep breath they were now at the point the whole
meeting was about.* Before doing that I wanted to check with the
others. Make sure she was on the up and up and not working for
G.U.A.R.D. That is where you come in.
ACE
~ *she grabbed a snack to eat and then moved quickly towards the
library.. feeling her gun at her side to give her courage...
though the real courage came from the badge she carried... she
smirked as the many badges on her coat from different times were
looked at by her...*
VEIL
~ Lyta *she drains the rest of the coffee from her mug, setting
it down next to yours and shuffling after you, watching as you
set the braclet, mimicking your actions with her own.* You know,
I'm not even sure I know what questions to ask about what's going
on ...*she sighs, twisting her hair back off her face and
securing it with a band* This whole situation is confusing as all
get out ...
LYTA
~ Veil; *she nods absently, thinking it would not do for you to
know that this is also to get you checked out too, to make sure
doubly sure that you were not actually working for the Guard*
thats ok...im sure as we talk questions will come up...i will
help you.....*she looks up at you with a smile* ...ready? *her
hand moves to touch the button*
INDIGO
~ *again, she frowns suspiciously, then leans forward and almost
whispers* ..help up? How? Why? I mean… take a good look at
this situation. Do we really need to drag others into it who
don’t need to be here? I wouldn’t wish this on my worst
enemy! Problem is, most of my worst enemies ARE in this…
*She sighs and leans back, running a hand through her
free-flowing hair* But I’ll check her out.. of course I
will. *her eyes, which have wandered off, suddenly flick back,
staple themselves to Zora’s face* You understand
though… it may mean nothing even if she IS clean.
Mindwipes… they do wonders.
VEIL
~ Lyta ...*she nods, settling her finger on the button of her
bracelet. She didn't have much of a choice, she thought. It would
be nice to meet others that were in the same situation as she,
but she didn't have you ability to know who was friend or foe.
With a sigh she realized it was simply a risk she would have to
take, making a mental note to get some self-defense training
sometime in the very near future.~ Ready ...* she flashes a weak
smile*
SHADOW
~ I know.. In this case though Ace is involving herself. *Unable
to sit still she wonders over to the window. Unconsiously forming
a ball of shadows. Tossing it up and catching it.* There is
always the chance in her looking she may tip G.U.A.R.D. off about
us if she is on the up and up. *Turning her eyes seek out
Kelsin's* I would rather have her were we can keep an eye on her.
Limit the information she gets until we are sure of her. As you
say any of us could be working for them without any one else
knowing. All we can do is try to control the damage.
PANACEA
~ Veil;*she smiles and winks, then presses the button and
vanishes,....reappearing a moment later in front of the mansion,
then immediately looking around*
ACE
~ *she finally steps into the library... shaking her head...
amused* The Professor would love this place... *a brief laugh...
not noticing the two others yet... her eyes as usual astonished
at the pure size of the library*
INDIGO
~ *She sighs. Leaning back in the chair and rubbing her face with
the heel of her palm, nodding slowly* Yes, all that is true…
but how would she…? Ack. I suppose she should tell us that.
Have you asked her about submitting to a psi scan yet? And what
if she has shields, what then? *she seems totally unaffected by
the display of shadow-tossing*
SHADOW
~ *hearing Ace she looks over at her* Ace! *smling she moves
towards her.* Glad your here. I was just going to come looking
for you.
VEIL
~ Lyta *following your example she touches her own button,
finding herself standing in front of a house that boggles her.
She looks around to make sure you are near, then returns her gaze
to the house, fidgeting nervously*
ACE
~ *she gives a brief glance to Shadow* Aaah yes.. hello... *the
Communist badge flashing dangerously in the light... it had
always been one of the more important ones... she remembered
exactly when she got it* Why? Something up?
INDIGO
~ she glances up and over at Zora’s exclamation, and takes
in the sight of the other girl.. Ace. So this is the one, eh?
Shields strengthen unconsciously, but she smiles warmly enough,
nodding*
LYTA
~ Veil;..alright..there you are...lets go.....*she grins to hide
her own nervousness, her empty belly twisting with anxiety as she
senses other unnaturals near, noting that her ability seems to be
getting stronger, she walks to the door and rings the doorbell*
ZORA
~ Yes.. Come in. I want you to meet Kelsin. She is here to help
me brief you on the Unnaturals.
ACE
~ *Ace didn't have the advantage of a healthy upbringing... the
military from a young age had been her life... she noddead at
Kelsin... politely enough... but her eyes showed suspicion... she
unconsciously felt the cybergun at her side... the gun that was
far in advance of this time period on earth... her eyes returned
to Shadow* Didn't realise we had company... I'll leave..
VEIL
~ Lyta *she slips up behind you as you ring the bell, rubbing the
back of her neck. She had no idea what she was heading into
...wasn't sure exactly how to handle all of this. She would just
have to wait and see how things unfolded, she thought with a
sigh.~ Do you think anyone is even home? *she peers around
cautiously*
ZORA
~ *hearing the bell she frowns. Who else was around? Turning to
Ace and Kelsin* Excuse me while I see who is here. *Not waiting
for a response she steps into the shadows to appear at the door.
Seeing Lyta she swings the door open.* Lyta!!!
ACE
~ *she heaves a sigh of relief* Finally... *and she fully entered
and approached them*
LYTA
~ Veil; *she grins* oh...someone is home...im sure about
that....*she wonders what your powers are and if you even
know...but being unwilling to reveal her own powers she does not
ask, thinking that she will know in time, she looks back at the
door, suddenly aware of the security camera, then she nearly
jumps out of her skin at Zoras yell*///Zora;*she gasps, her hand
going for the knife in her pocket, then recognising the voice she
stops and breathing deeply to calm her racing heart, she smiles*
...Zora?
ZORA
~ *Chuckling she pulls Lyta in looking over at Veil.* Has it been
so long you don't even recognize me? Who's your friend?
INDIGO
~ ACE:*She arches a brow at the gun, on alert now, but does
nothing, trusting in her shields and own powers to aid her if
anything should arise. She holds her smile, nodding again* 'Lo.
VEIL
Lyta ..*she was half-hoping no one would be there, nervous about
meeting new people. She sighs as she hears a response, trying to
get a glimpse of the person who belongs to the voice*
LYTA
~ Shadow; *she makes an extra effort to hold back the little
poisen she has in her system as you grab and pull her in, then
looks back at Bree and smiles* ..her name is Bree...she is....one
of us...
SHADOW
~ *smiling at Bree she holds her hand out,* Hello Bree. Why don't
you come on in then..
VEIL
*she looks from Lyta to Zora, timidly shaking the offered hand
before stepping through the door* umm ..nice to meet you *she
smiles hesitantly* Thank you ...
ZORA
Oh.. By the way.. I'm Zora. Welcome to my home. Now if you two
will come with me to the library. I think there is someone we
need to talk to there.
ACE
*she then gave a slow nod at Kelsin.. her hand moving away from
her gun* Indeed.... hey.. *she wiped her hand over her eyes*
VEIL
*She nods to Zora, slipping into step behind Lyta. Trying not to
gawk she blinks around the house as they move through to the
library*
LYTA
Shadow; *with an encouraging glance back at Veil she nods and
follows you, getting more nervous by the minute* ...oh...who is
that?
ZORA
~ Lyta: *Stops at the library doors.* A young woman came to see
me. She knows about us. *Smiles softly at Bree.* A friend is here
to talk to her. Looks like now we can take care of two for the
price of one. *She would have to talk to Kelsin about this latest
development. Still.. Better to check them both out now while she
was here.*
INDIGO
*A small scan outward, seeking the new arrivals. She doesn’t
want to be at a disadvantage… touches them, and quickly
withdraws, scolding herself. She was not her teacher, and while
ingrained by towards certain actions, she didn’t -agree-
with them, and pulls her mind back to herself. She learned a bit
tho… Lyta. She’d seen her before, at the last battle.
The other she didn’t know, but the girl was certainly
unnatural. Then she returns attention to ACE* Why don’t you
sit with us? I believe I’m here for your benefit, might as
well be comfortable.
VEIL
*She walks silently behind Zora and Lyta, listenig carefully to
the conversation. She wasn't entirely comfortable in this
situation, but ...it was a necessity*
PANACEA
Shadow;*she smiles slightly and nods* alright..i guess we came at
the right time.. this is Bree...i just met her the other
day....*whispers* ...i can sense she is one of us but dont know
her powers....*peers around for the visitor*
SHADOW
Lyta/Bree: Hello Bree.. Let's go in and meet the others... *Opens
the doors stepping into the library.*
ACE
*she gives a slow nod to Kelsin* Yes.. very well... *she then
actually smiles... not a warm loving smile... still tainted with
suspicion... but still.. it was definitely a smile... and her
hand was moved away from her gun... she approached now and sat...
searching for the correct badge... she didn't want to show her
security badge of the 23rd century for example... and realising
that a close look at the more decorative badges on her coat...
would reveal they were celebrating things which she was either
way too young to have gotten one of... or that hadn't happened
yet...*
PANACEA
Shadow;*she glances back at Bree to see how she is taking this,
remembering and reexperiencing her own fears, as she follows yu
into the library*
INDIGO
*Kelsin’s brows arch slightly as she scans the badges…
and she leans forward, mouth opened to ask of them, obviously,
when ZORA, LYTA, and BREE enter the library. She blinks over at
them, nods and looks back to Ace, smiling* Remind me to ask about
those later…. *then she leans back and takes a breath, eyes
narrowing*
VEIL
Lyta/Zora *she smiles shyly* hello ...*then once more falls
silent as she follows into the library*
SHADOW
*Nods to ACE and KELSIN.* Let me make introductions here..
*points to each person in turn.* This is Kelsin, Ace, Lyta and
Bree. I think everyone knows me by now.. *She then motions to
Kelsin If everyone would excuse us for a minute. *With that she
moves away from everyone to the other side of the room. Waiting
for Kelsin to join her.*
ACE
*her eyes widen at Lyta... not too concerned about having more
company... when she was in anothers home she'd struggle just
against one if that one decided Ace was better off dead... but
more concerned at WHO it is... but she covers up the action.. and
gives a slight nod... and then nods again towards Kelsin* Of
course... *and she found the one she'd been searching for... the
UNIT badge... and moved it to a more accessible location than
deep in her pockets.. just in case it was required*
VEIL
*she nods to Kelsin and Ace, watching covertly, studying each
face carefully.*
PANACEA
Ace;*she nods politely*
ACE
*softly* So that's what her name is... *she smiled... but
inwardly was worried... should she have told UNIT where she was
going... she'd had her reasons for doing this instead of just
leaving it to the Brigadier... she had an advantage.. having
travelled with the Doctor... and living in the future and picking
up certain items... and skills... but should she have at least
told her in case she failed here... so that the Brig would be
prepared to move in if necessary..*
INDIGO
*Kelsin arches her brows high at Zora’s silent request to
move to the other side of the room, but stands, and walks
forward, offering friendly smiles to BREE and LYTA as she passes,
curious tilt to her head now. If Zora hadn’t had shields,
this would be unnecessary, but she does, so….*
PANACEA
Veil;*watching Shadow and Kelsin move away, she looks back at you
and smiles encouragingly*
SHADOW
*Taking a deep breath she watches the others.* Sorry about this
Kelsin. I didn't know Lyta would be back or bring someone with
her. *She notices how shy Bree is.* Lyta says Bree is another
unnatural. She seems to know who is and who isn't.
VEIL
Lyta ...*she watches the others for a moment, then leans over to
whisper softly in your ear* Do you know what they are up to? *she
could feel tension ...wariness in the room, hidden beneath
smiles. It didn't take any special powers to figure that one out*
PANACEA
Veil;*she shrugs* we all have to be wary of the Guard...anyone
new they have to be carefull of..*glances at you* ......sorry..
INDIGO
*She offers a breath of laughter, and folds her arms, blue eyes
bright as she grins at ZORA, nodding slightly* Yes, I know…
Its alright I’ve at least seen Lyta before… The other I
don’t know, that Bree girl, but I’m aware she’s
unnatural. And yeah… think Lyta has talents in the direction
of knowing naturals from unnaturals. Aura does too, and most
telepaths, but for different reasons, of course. *the her eyes
flit a moment to ACE, and back again* She thinks aloud. I’m
trying not to listen but… *she suddenly grins* I think I
like her. *soft laugh* She’s as suspicious and paranoid as
any veteran RUNner. She didn’t tell anyone she was
here… she should have. But I don’t think it’ll
matter any.
