Another little notch

~*~ It had been weeks since Rika last stopped in, he was sitting up and eating his own meals. Even allowed to walk about the complex under supervision. Supervision, it almost made him feel like a rebel. He had slept in his own room, and the medics tapered off the muscle relaxant seeing as he could now heal correctly. He looked worse than he ever had in his life. Though he managed to keep his head tall despite the rumors that flew this way and that. . . He sat alone in his room, tending to his animals, something that gave him a bit of solace. And as desperate as his body was for their energy, he refused to take it. Instead he allowed the small animals to console thoughts he raced out of him mind. They seemed to flow easier than before from his thoughts, and his mind seemed very well protected. He hadn't felt this secure in a long /long/ while. The mail that arrived was actually a gift, of which he was very surprised to receive. A key, an address of which when was checked out held Exit's car. Perfect condition. This broadened his mildly pained smile further. He lounged on his bed a few rabbits roaming his floor, one white speckled and brown one lightly in his weakened grasp. He had hidden the key in the same place J.X. placed it, for later retrieval. His stitches were no longer long black streaks over his face, but a very dulled brown, and no string within his skin. His eyes weren't glazed, and his limbs operable. Not having spoken to a soul aside from Rika, and J.X. since he had been there. Even Scratch. He read the report and made no alterations, just confirmed it upon the bottom. It all seemed right, to fit nice. Tucked in placed and folded in others. Flawless. ~*~

~Pirahana~
*She walks up the hallways lost within her own thoughts, smiling and winking playfully at the males she encountered…these actions long ago having become a second nature to her, require no actual thought , most of the time she doesn't even know who she has encountered.....Somehow she had managed to be taken off of nursing duty, and without her even having to use her influence....an involuntary shudder runs through her...she hated taking care of the sick....but unfortunately that also meant that once again she lost track of James....It had actually been a surprise to see him there, she had heard that he was somehow involved in the escape of Venin, but that was about all she actually knew...she never listened to rumors, they were never true...besides, the ones circling the base were usually about her...and she didn't need to hear who was plotting her death this week...she absently glances up, and is shocked to find herself before Blackdaggers door....its not like she had actually planned this, somehow she just ended up here.....almost hesitantly she lightly taps on the door, not bothering to use the buzzer.....she didn't even know if he was back in his quarters, odds were good that he was still in the med lab...but she was here...might as well try it*

~*~ He saw his animals twitch at the tap, not having actually heard it himself. He watched the door for a long time, the feet beneath it casting shadows into his duller lit room. He turned down the classical jazz that his computer was emitting, and said lightly. ~*~ Enter. . ~*~ Half hoping to see Warpole or Tytan, But instead when his door swooshed open, voice activated he nearly groaned. He looked back to his rabbit, and said as dully as he could. ~*~ Come in or get out, just close the door, the rabbits will get lose. ~*~ He meant it too. From all the times Phobia had let those creatures lose he would get in trouble major if it happened again. He stroked the ears of the velvet rabbit on his lap before it decided to wander towards the foot of his bed and sit there sniffing. He glanced back to Rika. A few gifts were littered about his room, flowers from Chameleon, a get well soon card from Pole, a teddy bear from Dayre, and a small . .. what seemed like an ash-tray from Phobia. He didn't smoke but didn't have the heart to tell her otherwise. J.X. had bought him a model tomcat jet, as well. His room looked more like a /room/ than a compartment. And he really decided he liked it that way. ~*~

*She is almost startled as the door slides open...she hadn't really expected him to be in.…she didn't really even know why she was here or why she had decided to knock...A smile crosses her lips as she see him sitting on the bed, a rabbit in his lap....not exactly a sight you expect of him... she quickly steps inside the room, the door closing swiftly behind her* I just thought I would see how you were doing? *the words rolling off her tongue even before she has a chance to think about what to say...that was one thing she had learnt over the years, improvise as fast as you can...her gaze absently roams the room...it looks almost, comfortable....everything in the room is identical to hers...the standard issue bed, tv and bureau....only his looked almost comfortable....he had personal items, things that meant something to him, and gifts strewn about the room....while her room was still relatively plain, her only real change in it was her dressing mirror which took up 3/4 of the space...its not that she really even liked the thing, it was just expected of her....*

~*~ He was disappointed that she actually /stayed/ but didn't ask her to leave. Instead he said very dryly. ~*~ Thank you. ~*~ He then slowly and carefully sat all the way up, as a soft song floated from his computer. He would have turned up the lights if they didn't hurt his eyes. He instead picked up the rabbit at the edge of his bed and started to pet it once again before setting it upon the floor and letting it roam with the others. He ventured to ask, almost regretting it, almost anticipating the answer. ~*~ Is that /all/ you came to see me for? ~*~ He allowed his cool blue eyes to venture near her. Caressing over her luscious curves and beautiful face. He allowed his eyes to wander over her collarbone and trail back to the soft pools of azure. They were placed and fit so nicely with her face. He watched and nodded towards a seat at his desk, which was perfectly organized. The music still droned softly, as a sax lured. ~*~

*she watches him sit up and grab the rabbit, as if using it for a barrier between them* Believe it or not, you are actually looking better *she smiles almost sweetly as she watches the care with which you set the rabbit down....odd for something that will just be killed when he needs power...that all she came for?.....she bends down to gently pet a rabbit that is almost sitting on her foot while her mind races...why did she come here?* Well, actually.....*she slowly stands back up* I was sort of wondering if you would perhaps clear up a little bit of the rumour floating around. *she looks at him* ...what the hell happened?

~*~ He said absently looking at her still, saying in mush of the same tone ~*~ Read the report. ~*~ His eyes never tearing from her. Instead becoming more and more interested in her the longer she lingered. It seemed as if his will power had been wearing worse and worse everytime she 'graced' him with her presence. He watched allowing his hands to fall to the cool sheets beneath him. He shut his eyes in after thought and tore his attention from her. ~*~ It is just as it says. ~*~ He watched his computer screen flash several different colors to atone with the music. He watched this before saying lightly ~*~ Music off. ~*~ Closing his eyes again clutching his hands lightly as so they wouldn't tremble. ~*~ Why are you curious?

*she shakes her head chuckling lightly* I suppose I could...but you know as well as I that they rarely contain all the facts, at least the open ones...*she knows she is having an affect on him, but she makes no show of it.....she has learnt that this is one to move slowly with...but maybe also she is just curious...maybe this isn't just part of a ploy to add him to her list...or maybe it is...even she isn't quite sure why she showed up...her shoulders shrug slightly* I don't know, just curious I guess *she shakes her head* an odd sensation for me I must admit

~*~ His hands relaxed just a touch as he looked at the back of his eyelids. Flicking as he inhaled deeply. Almost tempted to not fight. But that was the purpose of the power, something he reminded himself of constantly. Exhaling slowly, a ragged breath that ebbed out of his trembling lips. ~*~ Odd sensation?? ~*~ He managed to breathe out through his tight throat. He left his eyes shut pressing then, with difficulty. He swallowed again and reached for the lights, anything to lessen the effects. And he succeeded. The lights soon blared, causing it nearly uncomfortable and a low buzz which distracted him just enough. ~*~ Well actually. . ~*~ He finally creased open his lids. ~*~ that report is in its entirety.

yeah, curiosity *a light chuckle leaves her lips*...normally I dismiss it, but this...it won't leave me *she watches him closely, concern starting to show on her face* Are you okay? She moves forward towards him* Should I call someone? *At first she thought your reaction was to her, but now she isn't too sure...no-one has ever reacted quite like this around her* maybe you should lie down

~*~ He shook his head, listening to her laughter lightly caress the air. Lick and spin it into fractured parts of reality, of sanity. He blinked again and forced himself to laugh. ~*~ No. . i. .it's all there. ~*~ He moved very slowly, swinging his legs over his bed. Allowing his feet to touch the warm hard floor. A luxury GUARD added, headed smooth floors. He slid his footing and stood carefully, ~*~ Thank you for your concern, but perhaps you are right, I should. . . rest. ~*~ Being as polite as possible. ~*~As if to walk her towards the door, to thank her for stopping in latch bolt and barricade it behind her. Instead he stood slowly and looked down towards her. The buzz and the silence was nearly alluring. He blinked a few times more, rapidly before using the back of the chair she vacated for support. He was a true gentleman, of which there was a vast shortage. He held out his arm, leaning slightly to help her up. Something he would have avoided at all costs just a few days prior, hours even. It was true she was like a drug. A thing that most unfortunate victims that were lured into her trap couldn't get enough of. Something he refused to allow his body to become addicted to. He inhaled again deeply. It seemed as if to get a last fix before being deprived for so long. His hand slipped around her arm gently, as to hoist her up gingerly, and escort her towards his door. He allowed his hand to trail to her shoulder as if in a friendly way. As friendly as he could manage in any case. Thinking at the same exact time of requesting a transfer to Green-land, or anywhere far far from her. His fingertips played lightly on the tips of her hair. ~*~ Thank you again. . . ~*~ Looking back towards his room ro assure the rabbits wouldn't escape. Wishing he would have enough strength /to/ escape/ ~*~((Like a train wreck you don't want to watch but can't look away . . .))

*with a smile she accepts his arm, but unwilling to burden him she puts very little of her weight upon it, * Perhaps rest is best for you. *Before he can react she stands on her tiptoes and throws an arm around his neck to plant a kiss on him…then just as quickly she releases him* Hope you get better soon.... I hate to see you moping around in here *she gently pushes a rabbit away from t he door and steps through* Good night James.

~*~ Feeling his feet warm and his limbs tingle, growing uncomfortable standing, uncomfortable in the situation. Releasing his light support to see her swirl around, and lightly kiss him. He backed away immediately, as if she were filled with venom. A look of complete disgust over his face, and playing that mask very well. His eyes and brow very stern He stepped back and shut the door without so much of a good-bye. Instead as the door slid shut and the latch locked, he stood there for the longest moments, praying to hear her foot-steps patter away to her next 'conquest'. He tried to remind himself that was all she saw him as. He allowed one hand to fall to the door for support, reaching for a crutch, a cane, a chair, or anything. Nothing was at hand, so instead he leaned forward. His hand then lightly trailing down the door. This was not a fun game. So tempted to follow her out, to either slap her or embrace her. Instead he with all the force he had left in his frail body managed to punch the door loudly and audibly. Even in this state managing to bruise his tender knuckles, and sprain his wrist. His healing factor may have been depleted for the time being, his constitution out of whack, but his other powers were perfectly in check. He turned his head as quickly as he dared, his unbound blonde locks following the motion. He watched the rabbits startle slightly then keep exploring his room. He slowly, and tediously managed back to his bed, still smelling her light perfume hang in the air ~*~

*as the door closes softly behind her a smile plays over her lips...she had progressed one step further....he might fight, but in the end, she would win...this is where she fought her battles...and she was very very good at them...she turns and begins walking up the hallway when she hears his punch echoing up the hallway and her smile fades....perhaps she shouldn't play her games...not now, not while he is in this state...it makes him too easy...and he knows it...maybe she should back off…and wage the war only after he was better...when they were both on even territory*
