Lessons Relearned
~Mettalic~
*he sighs heavily as he trots down to his room, guitar case
banging heavily against his back..he was late..he had forgotten
that Attrait had stuck him with some rookie training... he didn't
even know who, they just better be there.....he keys open the
door to his room and slides the guitar case inside before turninG
and running back up the hallway towards the wreckroom...* They
better damn well be there*...he hated almost every moment since
Attrait decided he needed some watching, it was driving him
insane, he rarely got off base to go play anymore and had even
less time to work on his bike...his pace slows just before he
reaches the final turn and turns towards the wreck room at a
sedate, almost arrogant pace...one commonly associated with the
vetrans*
~Bloodshock~
*Britney stood, looking around, refamiliarizing herself with the
strange place called the wreck room. She was nervous and feeling
a bit annoyed. She did not feel like a rookie, and didnt want to
be treated that way either, but she had to admit there were too
many things missing from her memory. She sighed and checked her
watch, wondering if her "trainer" was going to be
late**At the sound of a soft foot step she looked up at the man
approaching and sighed in releif, glad that he was considerate
enough, even to a "rookie" to be on time. She smiled
and nodded* hi..I'm Britney..
*he stops briefly at the sight of bloodshock...she wasn't a rookie?...was there a mistake?...* hey I'm Mike* he nods briefly and walks over to the console and starts typing in a sequence before looking up at her* are we suposed to work together?
*Seeing the questioning expression she smiled slightly, almost embarrassed. She had been getting a lot of looks like that. Truth to tell, she did remember his face, but not a lot more about him.* hi Mike...Yes, we are...I'm the rookie you are supposed to train. *She might as well get it out there and get used to it, part of her memory was gone permanently and as uncomfortable as it was, she had to accept it and move on*
*just as she answers the file comes up on screen and he slowly nods* ahh I see the..* he looks up at her* I'm supposed to see what you know....you been doing any training or practicng with anyone? *She sighed a bit and shook her head* no...only some running sometimes...a few months back..*She had run through central park a few times in New York, and down the towpath in Washington DC before her headaches had become too bad. But toward the end it had been all she could do to remain conscious sometimes. Reguardless, she still maintained a slender and fit looking body. The break in her physical training had done no long lasting harm. It would just require some work to get back in tone.*
okay then, so we'll start with some basics *he punches a sequence and the training room door opens* we'll just see what you retained...*he moved towards the door, gesturing for her to follow...inside is a Dojo setting, complete with matted floor and bamboo ceiling..as they enter, the door closes behind them* okay why dont you try the offense?
*She turned to watch the doors close, then turned back at him a bit nervously.*Alright...just a minute..*She pulled the shurikan stars she always carried from her pocket and carefully laid them in the corner. Then walked up to him with a smile and assumed a defensive stance, weight on her back leg.* now I'm ready..*Then she was moving fast, dropping into a much lower crouch, her weight on her front leg, and spinning, bringing her hind leg around from behind in a low sweep toward his ankles*
*he watches closely as she puts her weapons aside...interesting he never saId anythinG about no weaposn...thoughg he preferred it...* never announce when your ready..*he easily steps back from the kick* just attack
*She sighed, feeling her face redden a bit and nodded, thinking that just a straight forward attack would work much better. But she knew what was going to happen, it was always much easier to defend than to attack. Then she moved in on him suddenly, a shuffling step and aimed a roundhouse kick from her front foot at his kidney, followed by a back hand strike toward his face.*
thats better *he tries to abort the move by grabbing her leg as it swings for him and pulling her off balance as he drops to avoid the backhand and mimics her previous leg swing*
*She does know better than to leave her leg out there and pulled it back just as quickly, but she didnt move quite fast enough and is caught by the sweep, almost instinctively remembering to roll and slap the mat as she hit. Then she was up, rolling to the side and to her feet, and spun to face him, settling back in a defensive stance*
good you definately remember some stuff *as she rolls he steps forward aiming a direct punch for exactally where her head should be coming up while his other fist aims for a gut shot*
*Catching a glimpse of Micheal`s form approaching as she moved, Britney turned right into the punch, her hand moving fast to block it and winced as she felt her arm and his connect. She knew she would have a bruise there but at that moment her arm was forgotten as the wind was driven from her and she folded over with a grunt.*
*He chuckles lightly* thats a good block, both of us will feel that one tomorrow *he steps back as he watches her double over* Okay. you weren't ready for that one you have to watch everything at once in a fight *he lets her get back her breath and waits to see what her next move will be*
*She nodded silently, still bent over, catching her breath. After a few minutes she seemed recovered and straightened up, letting her arms drop from around her middle where she had held them. She stepped back at bit, warily sizing him up, her crimson eyes a bit narrowed.* Yeah right *She answered belatedly. Then she shuffled forward and began a combination feint with a back hand toward his face, her front left foot snapping out in a roundhouse to his kidney.*
OOmph! *He catches the feint a little too late and your foot connects with his side instead of the kidney* good shot *he drops down for a leg sweep then part way through the sweep, jumps trying a football type tackle*
*She snapped back to her defensive stance, then almost without thought jumped up over the sweep. Caught in the tackle, she fell, rolling onto her back, but then her feet came up in the same motion to catch him in the midsection. She pushed up then, her intent to flip him over her.*
*he briefly considers using his weight to conteract her move...but decides that he doesn't need her legs broken...he instead allows himself to be thrown, rolling on his shoulder as he lands* good countermove.. *She rolled to her feet also and stood watching him for any moves on his part, a small smile playing over her lips as again she caught her breath for a moment. She nodded, acknowledging his words* You know I remember your face but I don`t remember what you can do Care to enlighten me?
~ I control sound~*He looks her and chuckles lightly as a voice seems to whisper in her ear while he talks* I should tell you to read the files, but * he shrugs* seeing as I never do....or didn't....I can't really tell you to
*Her eyes widened in surprise at the whisper and it took all her will to not look around* Well i have been reading them...but I had not gotten to yours yet..*She nods* Thats good to know.*Then she grinned, feeling a bit more confident, after all, how could he fight her with sound unless it was with a stunning blast? She was relatively sure he would do nothing of the sort on a rookie. Perhaps the hated title had its uses. She is in motion once more, circling him. Then, keeping her eyes on him, she launched herself in another combination, again snapping her foot out in a front kick, this time leading into a spinning back kick*
*A hand catches the outstretched foot, tossing it back towards its origin as a fist flies straight for her* you working them apha or chronologically?
*Caught off balance she stumbled a couple steps, nearly falling. Noticing the fist coming at her from the corner of her eye, she docked low, and spun, bringing her hand up, this time, not to block but rather to catch the back of it. If successful, she would lead him around by his own momentum and then suddenly reverse the direction, raising his hand and bringing her other hand up over his face.* alphabetically why?
His hand is caught and the momentum carries through, but just as she raises his hand he drops his weight, trying to throw her off balance as his other hand reaches for her wrist and tries to throw her* Just trying to gauge where you are
*She frowned. This was not the way it was supposed to work! She had no chance to answer. Caught off balance, she gasped and was flung over him to land on her back, stunned. There she lay for long moments, trying to pull air into her lungs*
*he turns and slowly approaches, a friendly smile on his lips as he extends a hand to help you up* You okay? *For a moment she was pissed off, and stared at his hand, tempted, entertaining thoughts of the things she could do to him if she continued. But already sore from the fight she finally reached up to take his hand, thinking the match over* Yeah im fine
*He sees the spark of anger and simply chuckles* normally that move would work pretty good, but I have a huge weight advantage over you....and I fight dirty.*He easily pulls her to her feet*..street fighting is my preferred style....do anything it takes to win ..*he looks her over* you got a few good ones in on me...we're both gonna have some bruises...ya wanna call it a day?
*On her feet once more she smiled a bit, not feeling quite as bad for her failure* I see, that makes sense *She nodded with a rueful smile* Yeah that sounds like a good idea *A hot bath would do just fine about now. She looked back at him and smiled* Thanks for the lessons.*Then rubbing her arm, she winced* .I won`t forget those for a while ..bye *And with that she headed for the door*
