*She glares warningly at his hand, but takes it...hell what else was she to do?* What are you...?? * she starts to pull away as he mutter into his watch..she really did hook up with a crazy...then they are surrounded by a white light...a small sound escapes her lips...one of fright and shock..after all she doesn't know what this is..a disorienting feeling overcomes her as they land in Seattle, the space needle standing out in stark contrast agains the night sky...she doesn't even hear Alans joke as she merely stares around her.. then what seems slowly to her, she recovers...and turns to Alan, only to find him gone, already moved halfway down the street...with a growl she takes off after him, puting herself in his path* what the hell was that? what are you? *her hand just itching to reach for a weapon, but she doesn't not quite yet, she lets her bag fall heavily at her side, freeing up both hands if she needs them*
*He looks at her posture... Steeling his voice.* It wouldn't be a good idea...*Obviously meaning drawing on him. Surprise he could deal with, even anger. But he's never been faced down at the ready to be gunned down for saving somones ass before.* -That- was a transportation bracelet. I, am Alan. And you, are welcome...*He stands easy, knowing that even if she did pull a gun, it wouldn't do he much good, he'd just stop the bullets in the air before they reached him. And then retaliate in kind.* Anymore questions, or would you just prefer to shoot me?*Holding his arms out slightly, his tone a bit joking, a bit mocking. Indeed hoping that she did remember he stopped the bullet before it hit her. And that she still doesn't know how, of if it was him, that did it.* Go ahead, draw. It wouldn't do you any good if you pulled the trigger for evey bullet you go in the clip. I think you know that...*He's being awfully frank here. But why not? After all, he's not getting paid or anything. And she was likely already confused anyway. Besides, it doesn't bother him to let others know what he is. Though he is a bit warry... As though he's watching out for something else. And indeed he is. GUARD had a way of tracking the bracelets. If they were watching for them in this particualar area. And the news of the stopped in mid air bullet would reach them faster than he cared to adimit.* We better keep walking though...S'not safe yet. They'll be coming if they were watching.
*confusion and fear briefly cover her face as he answers her frankly* And what the hell is that? *slowly, very slowly her hand reaches into her pocket, then just as slowly it comes back out..her hand opens revealing upon it the bullet which had hung previously hung mid-air* You did this? *She takes a half step back, uncertain of what she will hear, or if she even wants to, her one hand ever ready, continuously poised to reach for a weapon* What are you?
*Well, it was natural for those who didn't know about them to fear them. He ignores her first question, then looks down at the bullet she holds in her hand.* Yeah, I did that. And i'm a mistake, that's what I am.*He takes a couple steps towards her, then walks around her. Seeming to walk away from her.* Ask me whatever you want, if I feel obliged to tell you, I will. But they might be by soon, so I'm going to keep on my way. Come if you like..*He heads off towards the direction of his safehouse. A place he's assured is clean of all bugs and devices. Mostly because it's in one of the last places people would look for him. Making his way down a couple alleys. Watching out all around him as he goes.*
how? * she is skeptical, she had actually expected him to admit it but why? how? what was he?...she watches him step sround her and she turns, her eyes tracking his every move* Who will be here? *She picks up the bag and once more catches up with him..this time putting her hand out to stop him, using force if neccessary..and strength she does have* What is going on? What have I gotten myself into?
*He feels her hand on his arm. And, more to oblige her than anything, stops.* How.... Lets see. I concentrated on the air around the bullet. Hardened it, then suspended it in the air with a field of low pressure. Kinda like this.*He looks over at a garbage can, and crushes it with a field of dense pressure.* Good enough answer?*He looks around a bit more... Normal people, no GUARD. Perhaps they hadn't been monitoring this certain area.* People like me, but not nearly as nice. Or -caring- about who gets in thier way.*Adding that last part to mean her.* As far as to what's going on, not a whole lot. The cops in MAINE won't have expected us to be this far away, and they may not have a good description of you. After all, it is a bar full of drunks and everyone there was pretty intoxicated. Most of them will probably give the cops a description of the whore giving hand jobs. As to the issue of what you've gotten yourself into, well, something you may not get out of if you dig deeper. Trust me. This is a story better left unknown, most people who learn about it don't survive once -they- know it's known. And I've known better skilled than you, no offense, who they've taken care of without a second thought to how easy it was.
You what? *she shakes her head in shock and confusion as he demonstrates* How? How'd you do that? *she shakes her head* No, its not good enough.....my first night in this country and I wind up in the company of the strangest man I have ever known on a totally different coast less than three hours after I landed...*she shake sher head* I just don't believe this...there had to be something in the guiness....I'm obviously already in deep...I need to know what I am in.. If my contact ever does show up, he's gonna hear stories...and they are gonna spread...I need to know what I am in
*He shakes his head slightly at the utter stupidity of it. Yet another inocent soul was to get sucked into the black hole of a mess. Taking a few drags from his cigarette. He stays silent for many minutes.... Just thinking about what he should do. Finally, he shakes his head, tossing his cigarette on the ground and crushes it out with his foot.* Alright.... C'mon. I'll tell you what you want to hear. But not out here.*He makes his way slowly past her, Walking a little more into the alleyways. Pulling a handkerchief from his pocket. He stops and turns around to her.* I'll have to blindfold you. More for my protection than your own, after all I can't have everyone knowing where my safehouse is now can I?*He waits for her response. Obviously if he was going to try something foul, he could have done it already. Besides, if she was what he thought she was. She shouldn't have a problem with it. Mercs were usually called to secret places, and sometimes not allowed to see them.*
*She stands there, letting the silence grow between them while he obviously thinks......she wants to know whats going on here, she's going to need to know....her career and her life might depend on it...* Not here? fine....where?*she follows him into the alley, this guy doesn't present a threat to her, if he intended anything he would have made a move a while ago**She shifts the bag on her shoulder and looks at him, weighing and measuring then she shrugs* Fine, blindfold me...*... after all, a blindfold isn't going to impede her ability..what he doesn't know is how acute her senses actually are...odds are she could find the place after a brief trial and error if she wanted to*
*He blindfolds her. And, much to her no doubt frustration, he won't -ALLOW- her senses to let her find the place. He's been at this game a while. When you respect your potential rival, you live longer. So once he has the blindfold in place he floats her into the air a few inches so that her feet aren't touching the ground to know how far they've walked. He continues on, walking through a convoluted allyway of shit, a maze that even most of the gang bangers here in seattle didn't know well. Finally, he comes to his building. HIS building. He opens the door, and walks inside, floating her behind him. Walking up some steps. He walks into a room and closes the door behind them. Locking it up. Then he puts her down and takes off the blindfold. The place looks alot like an in home Gym. Work out equipment all over the place. A close combat weapons rack in one corner. He walks over to the kitchenette, pulling a couple bottles out of the fridge. And then he -floats- one over to her.* Fraid beer is the best I can do. Never took a liking to guiness. Then he heads over to the couch . The place is simply HUGE, it must be the top floor of some building. And from the abscense of noise, well removed from the main streets of the city.*
*She shifts her bag uncomfortably while he blindffold her..then somethign strange happens* What the fuck? *she no longer feels the broken pavement under her feet she tries to take a few steps to no avail...she still feels nothing....immediatley shes on the defensive, anything this strange would do it to anyone..her hand rests just above her weapon, ready for anything, every sense is attuned as he leads her floating through the alleyways...he might have managed to confuse her feet but her sense of smell and hearing were still good..it might take her longer to track this place, but if she needs too she will be able to ...eventually..finally she feels her feet touch solid ground and he removes the blindfold..cautiously she looks around as the bag falls heavily to the floor* Nice place you got here *Her eyes widen slightly as the beer floats over to her and she very gently reaches out to take it* uhhh...thanks *she looks the beer over almost as if searching for strings or something before poppiing the top*
Well now.... Where shall I begin. Should I start with -my- begining? Or the begining I understand to be the START of everything.*He thinks for a few moments. Taking a couple droughts from the bottle.* Well, lets begin by saying that theres a great deal here that most people were never meant to know. Although that might be apperant. Even today, the number of -normal- people that know about us, even with all we do, is relatively small. Could you imagine what the world would be like if people that seemed to have "Super Powers" suddenly emerged. Be sorta like that comic book X-Men. Witch hunts, mass hysteria. That sort of thing. Anyway... I guess you could say it all started with what most things of this calibure do, Genetics. I suppose you know all about the secret wars between governments, the race to create "Super Soldiers" using gene therapy and gene manipulation.*He puts his beer on the table.* Well it would appear that about 30 some years ago. Somone succeded. But not anyone that most governments more than likely know about. I don't know too much of the peticulars of this company or lab. Accept that thier name is GEMlabs. They created what we've come to know as being Unnaturals.*He watches her face for signs of emotions, weather she's believeing it or not.* Anyway, they created some syrum, and injected it into who knows how many fetuses. We seem to gain a new one every now and again... But something happend. They had some problem, don't ask me what. And they lost the files for more than three fourths of thier human experiments.*He smiles.* The simplicity of what i've told you so far is enough to get you killed. Should I go on?
*amusement touches her features as she leans against the wall but she doesn't interrupt, just lets him speak until he puts the beer down* and you expect me to believe this? *A deep chuckle gently rocks her body as she tips the beer back* this does sound like a comic book *She pushes off of the wall and walks towards the couch.* I've known a lot more that would get me killed *in one fluid movement she drops to the floor and sits cross legged a few feet in front of the couch* so fill me in on the rest then...if its so dangerous I want it all, I want to know fully what I am in
*He laughs... She might know some other things that were dangerous. But she doesn't know the leathality of the people she's dealing with. No government had as much pull as this lab. In fact, perhaps no other shadow organization in the world for that matter.* Your funeral. I never said you had to believe ANY of it. All I said is i'd tell you what I know. Anyway... There are more of us than you'd think. But, we aren't free. GEMlabs created a group out of those who didn't leave when the problem happened. They're called G.U.A.R.D. it's an acronym for something. I might have known what it stood for a while back, but i've forgotten. All I know them as now is bad news... They've got technology YEARs beyond anything any government possesses. They use it to capture us. And not for the reasons they exclaim to those who do have contact with them. They aren't protecting the world from us. They're getting rid of us, so that there's no one to stand in thier way. You think armies, nations, anyone would stand a chance against even a -few- people who exhibit powers like mine. I can stop bullets easy. And there are powers ranging more than even your imagination can dream up. People who create illusions. Invulnerability. Pyrokinetics.... And much more. The early signs that somone is altered is in the senses. Advanced, more so than ANY human on the planet. Hearing, Seeing, Smell, Touch, Taste. We're superior to humans at every level of sense. At first, one might believe themselves to simply be "gifted" but we're far more gifted than any athlete in the world. In fact, I could probably break some of the world records held by olympians. But, the GUARD is above the law, and they are above reproach. We're everywhere... That's the end of the story, the rest is merely particulars. What I can tell you, is if you see one of the GUARD and recognize them, and it's pretty easy, they wear spandex, then run. Because your weapons won't do anything to them.
*She smirks* Spandex? oh man...I think they have definatley read waaaay too many comics *she finishes off the beer and places the empty on the table* shadow organizations I know...advanced weaponry I can deal with, espionage, sabotage, assasination these are common...,*she looks at him briefly then continues on* I think by now you have figured out who or at least what I am..so this stuff is no big surprise to me, not much does surprise me... .but your telling me that super heros and villans are real and that they do actually run around in spandex?..somehow I just don't see it ...stuff like enhanced senses, reflexes etc....thats just training, or instinct..or maybe evolution...but...*She shakes her head, as if trying to knock thoughts loose, thoughts that your words just seem to trigger for her* No, I just can't see it
*He smirks.* Alright then.... Here's a simple way to make you believe. Explain the things i've done to you. I've set nothing up. I've just met you. Yet, I could stop your heart in your chest as surely as if i'd reached out to grab it. And like I said, i've asked you to believe nothing. Sounds to me like your trying to convince yourself. I've no reason to lie about any of this. What would it prove. It's the simple truth of the things you've witnessed tonight. What, you think the WIND stopped that bullet from hitting the back of your head. Nope... Wind like that doesn't exist. You're the one reaching at straws for belief. I know all there is and all that i've said. At any rate, that's it. My stories at an end. I suggest that if you want to stay alive. You don't go blabing it around. Or else you'll find out all too soon about the people i've described. They're everywhere. Without even knoing it, you've stepped into a much larger, and more horrifying world than you can believe. And, there's no going back. This isn't like knowing who killed JFK, or the alien landing at roswell... It's more dangerous exponentially. And your just not fathoming it. Just follow my advice merc. You see a GUARD, you leave, because you're not trained, nor anywhere near good enough to handle one. Simple training CAN'T beat these people. It takes another unnatural. Any normal person will just be murdered, then sweeped under the rug.
