Old Friends?
~VENIN~
*sweat pours from her brow as muscles flex slowly raising the
body to the bar...tnedons stand out on the forearms as she holds
the position, eyes level with the bar..then once more the muscles
contort, a low groan of effort leaving her lips as she slowly
raises herself above them...and holds once more....with just as
much effort she lowers herself, parralell to the bar, and then
down...only to repeat the process again..and again..her muscles
burned, sinew stood out taunt along her frame, her clothing
drenched in sweat...her mind tracking over the files she had
recently read...picking out key information...and wondering once
again, why her capture file was denied to her*
~EI-QUE~
~*~ Agility cats envied, and wisdom an owl loathed. Beauty,
simple, quiet, and now most enigmatic. Jesse, the dear, was
complete. 'Complete' as files stated, the psychologists reminded,
and the status read. She did not feel this utter completion, but
instead recognized it as something she was searching for, for a
very long time. This wholeness was the development of her
emotions. She wept when she was sad, she smiled when she was
happy. She expressed what she was thinking. This making her
whole. Before reinstating her to the GUARD she went over several
points of interest with Rikky. The bastard Aerik, the unfortunate
status of the RUNners, the way her mind could still grow. How as
her mind grew she would need to maintain her body. And since her
flesh was not as pale. Her frame petite, but not wasted away. She
looked healthy, felt healthy. And to these arrangements only she
agreed, to practice at the workout rooms at least twice a week.
As Attrait explained it, when she should run in with RUNners
again at a later date, they might not understand her change of
heart. And that would mean a physical confrontation with those
who would be at a mental par, or superior. She slid into the
work-out room, hearing the equipment being used. Hardly looking
up to see who was there. Only offering a polite nod, before even
letting her eyes wander towards the person. Upon identifying the
woman, she just stood for a moment, and in a quiet, and almost
pleasant voice. Relief in her eyes, saying a simple. ~*~ Hello
Yvette. It is good to see you once again.
*muscles strain, heart pounding like a drum, her own breath
sounding a harsh rasp .....yet even over these she had heard
someone enter....her senses now almost rivalling her
fathers...aspects of herself she had never bothered to hone
before, not when she was a RUNner...but now, here at base...she
had a goal, had a reason to exercise every skill she had....she
stops a quarter of the way up, not quite believeing what her
senses are telling her, then after the briefest pause she
continues the upward pull...then the voice, confirms what her
senses had told her.....this time on the full extension, she
pulls herself around the bar, flipping and sailing through the
air to land on her feet beneath it, facing the new entrant, her
landing made heavy by the twenty pound weights on each ankle*
Jesse *she nods briefly at her then leans over to unfasten the
weights* when did you get back?*..she hadn`t heard anything about
Jesses capture, or return, she hadn`t seen any new additions to
the file not last time she looked anyhow*
~*~ She offered the briefest hint of a smile before placing her
items near the benches that led to the locker rooms. She shrugged
a bit and said in a paced tone. ~*~ I am not too sure myself.
Rikky aided me in an epiphany of sorts, and I found myself
starting where I began. ~*~ She said this absently, and retrieved
a few ankle and wrists braces slipping them on. She took of the
sweats and sweatshirt to reveal a plain tee-shirt, and a grey
pair of shorts. Her GUARD emblem on it was small and uncolored.
As if they had just released her to work, and not even asigned a
department yet. She moved towards the beam, that was in another
part of the rec area, through a window and visible through a
glass wall. She said again quietly. ~*~ I discovered there were
many things I despised about my previous existence with the
Rogues. The GUARD opted me to stay here. ~*~ She left it at this,
as she mounted the beam. She did not hold her hands out for
balance, instead left them loosely at the side. Walking back and
forth for a long while before even attempting a few simple flips.
~*~
Rikky? *she drops the weights noisily on the bench then grabs up
a towel and wipes some of the sweat off..another piece of the
puzzle clicks slowly in the back of her mind...the solution just
barely out of reach but there, hidden by a haze...*Despised? *her
own responses are short, choppy, and to the point...no longer was
she the caring compassionate person that Jesse formerly
knew...now she was strictly what she was meant to be...a cold
blooded killing machine, a Hunter of Rogue Unnaturals, a deadly
predator...with one key prey on her mind...Aerik Winters..and
here before her was one who knew much about Eclipse and what he
could do, was capable of...this was a yet untapped source of
information* about six months ago, two months after the breakout
*she drapes the towel around her neck and follows you into the
other room where she leans against the wall*
Aerik Winters, ~*~ Spite, it could not have been clearer.
Disappointment, riddled with pain. ~*~ Also known as, and
preferably as Rikky, Psiclone, not Aerik. I do not blame him. ~*~
She said quietly. ~*~ I am sure you have met him before. . . ~*~
She then slowly sat straddled over the beam. Finally rolling
backwards and walking slowly on her hands, her eyes focused on
the beam entirely as she casually spoke to Yvette. Noting she had
changed, drastically. Then again, so had Jesse, in ways she knew
Yvette noticed, but was more than likely not at concern to speak
about. ~*~ Yes despised, loathed, hated. I made mistakes. ~*~ She
did not want to bore her with details. But if asked she would
have supplied them. She smiled offering a bit of soft musical
laughter. It echoed off the silent walls, empty in itself. ~*~
What a waste of time that was. I would like to apologize for
orchestrating that fiasco. If I had only known.
*the slightest smile touches her lips...that spite is one she
knows well, hatred for Eclipse her only bedmate* Yes, I have met
him *Her smile changes slightly, this one tinged with scorn...as
she remembers her first encounter with him* I almost killed him
first time....only my fathers intervention saved him *Jesse had
known her well enough to know of her hatred of Scratch, now that
hatred had been entirely refocused upon Aerik...her father only
being spoken of with respect...nothing more, nothing less...* As
did we all, though not all by choice *She shakes her head in
denial* without it, I would not be here
~*~ One hand then slowly lifting into the air, as she continued
her unwavering balance, until quickly tumbling her body back to
the straddling potion. Exhaling firmly as she did that and the
standing again. on her tip toes, handless flips, and such,
seeming as if almost in a graceful mode. She then paused at the
edge of the beam her tip toes only supporting her. Lightly she
brushed away a bit of her brown hair before looking towards
Yvette. ~*~ I am glad your father intervened. I am also glad you
are upon speaking terms with Mr. Christopher. -=- She left the
subject alone, as there was not much to discuss about it after
Yvette' s next comment. She slowly turned her eyes towards
Yvette, and asked quietly, as she hopped off the beam. -=- What
are you implying ' not all by choice' ? and ' without it' ? ~*~
Her mind instantly working in several different ways. Taking the
situations and evaluating them. -Almost killed Rikky, Not by
choice. - Then Jesse did something she never was known to do
before. Jump to a conclusion. Though she did not voice this
aloud. She would let Yvette explain if she wanted to. ~*~
*she shrugs now this conversaton was leading to what she
wanted...if it hadn`t, she would have just started firing
questions....but for now, she`ll let it ride as is* It`s all in
the file and my reports...`Eclipse` * this time her venom and
hatred comes through* stole my life turning me to a RUNner...*a
malicious smile sits on her lips* my confinement then self
imposed isolation let me break the barriers he had set....
~*~ Jesse stared in awe for a moment. Approaching Yvette. A smile
and honest one playing over her lips, stretching very wide. ~*~
This is utterly fascinating! I have never heard of once one being
able to merely break barriers without a power influx or emotional
trauma! ~*~ Her tone lowered as well as she dropped the subject.
Saying lightly. ~*~ I would not have put it past him. He was
playing everyone along as puppets. ~*~ She pondered quietly. ~*~
Or perhaps . . . he released all mental holds upon you. ~*~ She
narrowed her eyes slowly deducing a few things, and saying
quietly, near vengefully. ~*~ After-all when I needed the bastard
most is when he did that to me. ~*~ Unsure why she needed him.
Unsure why she so desperately was helpless, and /needed/ him. And
this didn' t bother her. Of course it wouldn' t . . . she did not
remember a lot of things, since the attack. Since Rikky found
her. ~*~
*she nods in agreement...emotional trauma..mental trauma...those
were things she had undergone, things she knew well...perhaps she
was the only one who knew how close she had come, how she had
looked over the precipe, perhaps even broken...but why divulge
that* perhaps that is it * a sigh leaves her and she shifts
against the wall...this banter was boring her...getting
nowhere...she needed information, and Ei-que had it * What can
you tell me about him? *she might as well jump to the
point...mindlessly inane chatter would get her nowhere, it was a
waste of time, when she could be seeking informaiton elsewhere*
~*~ Her eyes flicked upwards as she stood for a long moment
watching Yvette. She would have to adjust, seeing the ' real'
Yvette was here now. The other "Yvette" she knew was
nothing more than a fantasy. A sick work by a man they both
hated. She quietly withdrew and looked at Yvette square in the
face. ~*~ I know more than enough. Everything he allowed me to
know about him. Fondness, though they could have been lies,
dislikes, fears. There is more I could remember I am certain of
it. ~*~ She looked back towards the ground. Frustrated. ~*~ Given
time. ~*~ He eyes only whipped back to Yvette, understanding her
pain. She went through so much of the similar things. Or perhaps
the real Yvette would not want to accompany a brain. Another
thing she despised Aerik for. He ruined Yvette. Ruined her. She
could not get to know this woman. Everything she knew was fake.
She tried remembering Yvette back when she was younger, before
Venin left GUARD for the RUNners. She could recall nothing except
the woman did not say more than two words to her at a time.
Dissapointed a bit, but understanding, and very angry. How dare
Aerik? Not only was Yvette effected but everyone who admired that
facade of a strong spirit. Quietly she uttered. ~*~ What are you
going to do about him?
Good...I want everything...his weaknesses,
strengths...anything....*She takes on a look of a predator,
anticipating the hunt..a cold feral gleam in her gaze...perhaps
the time was soon, very soon she would go after Aerik..she looks
Jesse over, appraising her...she was a strong telepath,..perhaps
here was the weapon she had been looking for..* I am a Hunter, I
will do my job *the words quietly spoken, almost like a
threat...one directed outwards, towards the entity which had
altered both their lives...she can`t help it if she
`accidentally` kills him while doing her job....if you can`t
bring them in, then kill them...and she would ensure that she
couldn`t bring this one in..she didn`t want to chance his
escape...*
~*~ She looked over Yvette her feral looks and demeanor. Thinking
slowly, a quote that blared in her thoughts ' Foolish man of
action, don't you but know you are pawns to the clever man of
thought. ?' Seeing as this wasn' t the Yvette she knew, nor ever
would be she instead simply smiled gathering her things. ~*~ I
will have to discuss if that is classified information with my
superior, Venin. ~*~ Shooting a glance back towards her that read
very clearly -LATER- ~*~ I feel I have discussed a lot with you
already tonight I am unsure if can be released between deserters.
~*~ Hesitating a moment again, saying sincerely, and a bit
withdrawn. ~*~ It is good. . . to see you again. Alive, and in
good physical standing. ~*~ She paused again as she turned away
as if to say something. . . instead she gathered her things and
walked out of the rec room. She fulfilled her obligation. To her
severe disappointment. ~*~
