School of Hard Knocks
~VENIN~
*the door slides shut behind her as she steps form her
quarters...her emerald gaze instantly traversing the hallway and
all within it..she turns to head up the hallway...out towards the
main foyer....the hour was getting late and already she had spent
hours in the library, and more in the gym...the two basis of her
life had been exhausted today...she needed something
else....maybe the wreck room...a cold smile crosses her lips as
she remembers the orders her father issued....she was to 'train'
with Rikky weekly and tomorrow would be another of those training
sessions...each session another lesson on what Aerik was capable,
another insight to his weaknesses ..and one step closer to
eliminating him*
~VIRUS~
*the young rookie was already in the wreck room... almost
asleep... but not quite... but scarcely what you would call
/awake/ either..... half an eye on his surroundings.... the other
1 1/2 eyes were blank....*
*She stalks up the hallways, resembling in many ways a predator
on the prowl....and that she was....she was a HUNTER, meant to be
in the field, not confined like a rookie...sitting on the base
was starting to get to her, she longed for the hunt once
more...but until she received orders she was here....she rounds
the corner and pushes open the door to the main training
room...her gaze instantly landing on the rookie sitting half
asleep at one of the consoles...a feral smile graces her lips as
she stands there arms crossed over her chest looking down at him*
*he didn't really notice her... that was the problem with being
half-asleep, if it wasn't someone you at least had seen about
quite a bit, you just didn't recognize them....*
Wake up! *one foot snakes out pulling the chair out from under
him* You here for training? *her cold emerald eyes beat into
him...her mind instantly running with his file, identifying
him...*Virus? get up
you know.. *his eyes flicking open* A polite request for me to
get up would be sufficient. *slowly getting up off the floor*
Why are you here? sleeping?...This is a training room...*she
walks over to the console and starts punching in a training
sequence* not a bedroom...you come here for training.... and
training is what you are now going to do.....what level you at?
Observation is just as important as purely physical training. *he
just shook his head* In some ways more important.
Observe while learning.....physical training is what lets you
survive *she glances back over her shoulder, her eyes hard as
they look at you* what level are you at?
Learning to observe without pressure is crucial.... then you move
it up. *he shrugged* I wouldn't know.... *he sighed quietly and
yawned*
*she shakes her head as she looks him over and wipes the training
sequence from the computers, this is going to be a one on one,
then she can tone down to suit him....better than having the
level set too high for him*You talk too much *she gestures at the
now opening door to the wreck room* get in there...your going to
go through your paces
*he sighed... if there was one thing he really hated it was bossy
people...* Talk too much? Sheesh... *he entered*
*She follows closely behind him as he enters the wreck room, the
door closing behind them* Okay kid, lets see what ya got....lets
see if your all talk...attack me....* she stands casually her
arms folded across her chest, simply waiting*
*he shrugged* If you insist. *he`d never fought before.. other
than the occasional school boy fight..... he was a scholar... a
`brain` as it were.... he rarely fought, but had a lot of
information in his memory... but nevertheless, he swung his right
fist towards her face..*
I do...*a cold smile plays across her lips as she watches his
muscles tense up, his eyes telling her exactly where he plans to
hit...his shoulder leading through on the motion, almost without
thought she reaches up capturing his fist in her hand* You can do
better than that *she releases his hand, her own falling down to
her side* try it again
*he bit back a sharp retort... how /could/ she know what he was
capable of.... launches himself at her, trying to tackle her,
aiming for around the legs...*
*She chuckles as once more his moves are clearly projected..her
knee comes up to intercept with his head* You project your
moves....the trick is not to think, but to react.....your telling
me your moves long before you make them...your leading with your
eyes and your shoulders....*suddenly a hand darts out grabbing
for his throat to raise him once more to his feet*
*if there was one thing he was it was agile... he rolled out of
the way, and tried to get to his feet... unfortunately, he wasn't
tremendously skilled* Based on that reasoning, the defender
always wins...
*She raises an eyebrow...least the kid wasn't totally
hopeless...he's agile at least* really? fine then defend *her
right fist flies out aiming for his ribs her left leg swinging in
a roundhouse for his head..both meant to contact and hurt, but
not having enough force to actually break anything*
*he jumped back... and then let his instincts take over.... he'd
avoided the kick with the jump back and then like lightning he
grabbed for her wrist, the elbow flying up towards her face*
*she chuckles slightly as she bends back to avoid the elbow*
that's a bit better, not much, but a bit *she feints a punch at
his left side then strikes with the right, following through with
a knee towards the groin...all three moves very standard and
relatively slow..she's working with a trainee, no need to kill
him*
*not having fought much, he does fall for the feint, but still
manages to avoid the fist at the right.... but not the knee
towards the groin... groans slightly in pain*
well, you have agility on your side...at least that something
*she doesn't give him much chance to recover from the hit before
she once more sends a fist flying at his side the other following
suit* tired of defense yet? Wanna try and take me out?
You were the one to say react rather than plan... to react you
have to be attacked. *moving fast to grab one of her wrists...
ignoring the blow from the other... hopefully with one wrist
disabled, she would struggle to avoid the knee he brought up
towards her midriff*
Reacting also involves attacking, moving without thinking...*she
smiles as he grabs her wrist...she could easily pull it free and
break his grasp...after all she was several times stronger than
him, but why.....her own leg intercepts his knee and she throws
her weight backwards, hoping that he retains his grip on her
wrist as she throws him over her head* instinctively knowing how
to move
*as he gets thrown over her head, he loosened his grip... and in
a somewhat bit of bad luck, knocked his head against one of the
walls.. now struggling to maintain consciousness* Fighting is
rarely the answer.
*she shakes her head as he goes flying* you need to learn to
fall....*she can tell that the hit knocked him pretty good so she
doesn't approach and instead merely stands there almost casually
as she waits for his attack* perhaps, but it will keep you alive
*usually he fell better than that... he got up groggily for a
moment, shook his head to clear it... then moved cautiously
closer... his right hand clenched hard...*
Roll when you fall *A smile of amusement plays across her lips as
she watches him groggily regain your feet* you gotta learn to do
better than that...*her gaze ever watchful, waiting to see what
exactly he does*
*once again he used his agility... moving quickly towards her
left... before darting in, and whipped a blow towards her right
side with his fist*
*a chuckle is the only reaction as his fist impacts on her right
ribs* good, you learn quick *as his fist collides with her side,
her own feints for his head while a foot snakes out to hook his
legs and trip him* but you still have much to learn
*once again he falls for the feint, but this time as he fell
through the trip he managed to avoid his head smacking hard
against the floor* Could I point out that I haven't been here for
even half a year yet?
*she shakes her head as he falls for what she thought was an
obvious feint* that doesn't matter, its merely an excuse...*she
looks down at him on the floor* get up!.....defense or offense?
your call...she watches him waiting to see what he'll pick..or if
he has the initiative to strike on his own..either way, she's
ready, she always is*
*he sprung to his feet, launching a quick uppercut from either
hand at her* That is /far/ from an excuse.
sounded like one to me *she smiles as he makes a move without
announcing it or answering her question, but she easily sidesteps
it....her leg once more snakes out to entangle his...however this
time that is the feint, as one fist flies for his stomach, the
other aiming for the side of his skull*
*he does manage to avoid the first aiming for his skull, but
unfortunately is doubled over by the one hitting for his
stomach... he just shook his head* Whatever... I've had enough. I
have to go. I need rest.
*she scowls at him as he tries to issue the orders* I don't think
so *while he's still doubled over she throws another punch, this
one with a little more force aimed at his ribs* I am your
superior, I end the session* .., and she dances around him, her
foot aimed for the back of his knees to take him down* you do
not......*if he does go down then her foot kicks out once more
aimed for the centre of his back pushing him to the floor* You
will respect authority around here
*if he hadn't been doubled over, he would have easily avoided
it... as it was he went staggering back... then went down..*
*she chuckles as he lands and goes flat on his face then she back
off and codes in the door key* Now you can go...*she turns and
walks out of the room ignoring the rookie left laying there and
heads back to her room for a shower, then out to do a real
workout*
